Samanala Kanda(butterfly mountain) Sri pada , Adam's peak is a beautiful 2243m (7459ft) tall conical mountain in southern reaches of the central highlands .   it is belongs to Rathnapura district(Sabaragamuwa  province) Nuwara Elliya (central province)

According to the Sri Lanka’s great chronicle, Mahawamsa, Buddha visited Sri Lanka three times. The last time he traveled from Kalaniya to Sri Pada, and then to Digawapi. It is said that Buddha left his foot print on the rock at top of the mountain at the invitation of the Deity Sumana Saman


Best Trails 

Access to the mountain is possible by 6 trails But the usual route taken by most pilgrims is ascent via Hatton-Nallathanni ,and Ratnapura-Palabaddala
During the off season Hatton Nallathanni is the best and safe trail that i can recommended
  



To see the the amazing sunset you have to be there early morning its beter if you can start climbing
 2 a.m  ( in Sri Lankan time ) and it will take 3 hours to climb up

 Do not forget carry a light (touch) water and a jacket,the temperature of the top of the mountain is low.Don't worry about the Dogs be careful  about the leaches (it is also not harmful)
